The Pumped personal trainers are the heart of our business so we go out of our way to make sure we only employ the best, that they love what they do and in return project and give back their positive energy and enthusiasm to you. Positive and enthusiastic people usually have a story and it’s no surprise our trainers do as well, each has embarked and continues to travel along their own health and fitness journey with fantastic results.

The health and fitness industry is a bit of a roller coaster when it comes to next latest and greatest exercise or weight loss tip, our trainers keep up to date and ensure they continue to progress their professional development through their active participation in the industry and attendance at Fitex conferences throughout New Zealand, this keeps them REPs registered which is important as a quality standard, but it also enables them to cut through the crap and only provide you with the latest and greatest exercises and weight loss tips, that actually work.

I was the first of 4 children to fall into this world in the 80’s, onto a farm in the North Island where I very quickly became a farmer’s daughter. From milking cows to shearing sheep, mowing hay, to drenching cattle I’ve almost seen and done it all (on the farm I mean).

Before moving to Christchurch I spent some time in the beautiful Queenstown where I studied Adventure Tourism Management. I always knew that I wanted to lead an active life and I didn’t want “a sit down job,” but at the time I didn’t realise that helping people with their health and fitness was the path that I was going to head down. I completed my study before then entering into a Herbalife business after using their products myself and having fantastic results. This then led me to help other woman lose weight and feel good about themselves, which then led me to study and complete my qualifications in Christchurch as a personal trainer.

Being active has been an important and significant part of my life. I played all sports growing up, after captaining a Netball team to representative level, I then got into running and cycling. I started by completing 6 half marathons, 1 full and cycling competitively at the “Girls on Bikes” 76km event, Methven. In 2012 I found my passion, combining running and cycling together through participation in Duathlon. Shortly after I won my first Duathlon! I felt I needed to push myself harder so upped the ante and added a sport which at the time was not one of my strengths, swimming. Over the past couple of years I have achieved many personal goals starting with the “Challenge Wanaka Half Iron Man” and finishing with my greatest achievement to date, training hard to qualify and successfully compete representing New Zealand at the 2014 World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton, Canada.

I get really excited when I can inspire others to get involved in events, there is nothing more satisfying than crossing the finish line of any event to be surrounded by all the positive, happy and supportive people. That’s why as much as possible I like to get my athletes involved in events so they too can benefit from their positive effects.

I launched my own personal trainer studio in 2009 and continue to this day, helping men and women lead healthier lives through achievement of their goals. My aim this lifetime is to inspire as many people as possible to lead more active lives, find a way to exercise that they enjoy and help create happier, healthier, fitter and more confident women in our world.

For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed exercising and keeping fit. My mum and dad were always gym goers, golf players and runners, and now they still are but have replaced running with biking! I am a mother of three young children, a six year old Flynn and twin 3.5 year olds, Ella and Cameron. After having the twins I topped the scales over three figures, which is 30kg heavier that my pre baby weight and I knew I had some work to do. I got back into exercising and started losing the weight, I have always had to watch what I eat and have spent a large amount of time just accepting that I was a bigger person and I would never have a flat tummy or small legs, I just wasn’t ‘built’ that way!

That was until I met Kate and joined the Pumped 100 day challenge! The constant motivation, being held accountable and my pure stubbornness not to fail or give up, meant I did some or lots of reps and exercise every day for 100 days. What an amazing challenge!! You learn so much about yourself, you do great things for others, become super organised, meet aaaamazzzzing ladies all doing the same thing and in my case, ended up in the best shape of my life! I learned that my ‘build’ was a mind-set (to a certain degree, we can’t change our bones of course!) I am now lighter than I was on my wedding day.

Working with Kate further she challenged me to think about who you I am and how I can be the best I can be. I love being around people and have worked in recruitment with people for over 10 years. I also love being healthy fit and strong and am passionate about helping and encouraging others to work towards and learn their true potential. After some motivation and encouragement from Kate I then took on a new challenge in my life. I joined Max International Fitness College and have trained to become a fitness professional. What an amazing journey, it is all very exciting and an excellent experience. I am now in a fortunate position to be able to work with wonderful people like you to become healthy, fit, strong and fantastic!

My two favourite sayings are “Your only one workout away from a good mood” and
“ I’m not telling you it is going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.” Because it is!!

I grew up in sunny Hawkes Bay, surrounded by beautiful beaches and tasty red wine (it doesn’t help that my dad is a winemaker). I am the only female and the eldest of four siblings. As you can imagine, physical activities were a commonplace in a predominately male household.

For as long as I can remember I have always had a thirsty competitive nature, which is the core reason why I have developed a strong passion for sport and fitness. During high school I was playing pretty much every sport under the sun; netball, basketball, volleyball, football, touch, surfing, surf life saving, rowing, half marathons, as well as doing regular strength and endurance training at the gym.

But as much as I love sport, I also have a strong passion for art and design. From a young age, mum and I used to spend countless hours doing anything from oil paintings, to chiseling out wood designs for printmaking. We have shared several art galleries together and overall, managed to sell quite a few pieces.

I continued to pursue my love of art and took on a degree in Textile Design at Wellington University. However, I quickly realised that this was not for me. I was struggling to find motivation and inspiration to design, and started questioning my career choice. Sport and fitness became less of a priority and more of an “on the side thing”. I soon realised that deep down my passion lies within health and fitness.

In 2013, I began my journey as a fitness professional, studying Physical Education at Otago University. It was one of the best decisions I have made yet! Understanding how mental and physical benefits of exercise can totally change ones life, or even SAVE one’s life, is so inspirational! It fuels my desire to educate others, like you, on how to lead a happier and more active life.

I was soon introduced to CrossFit and instantly fell in love with the sport. I competed in several team events for Dunedin CrossFit and even planned a big overseas trip to California to watch the World CrossFit Games! The nature of CrossFit has hugely influenced my style of training, as I enjoy compound movements and circuit based training.

It is a privilege to be a part of the Pumped team! Having the opportunity to help others work towards their goals is such a rewarding process, no matter how big or small the goal may be. I am excited and looking forward to helping you on your journey on becoming a more confident, fit and healthier individual!!
